No matter how fast you complete your orthodontic treatment  it never seems to come too soon! We view retention (retainers after braces) as merely your next phase of treatment; and a VERY important phase to say the least. As much as we don't like to admit it, teeth always seem to want to move and we've come to the realization that 'the longer we hold them' the better chance we have of preventing orthodontic relapse.

We take your retentive phase very seriously and hope that you do too. Our goal is for every patient to enjoy their new smile for a very long time. We have several types of retainers available for you and we've realized over the years that no one retainer is ideal for all of our patients.

Most retainers are removable and some are used just for sleeping. Others might need to be used all of the time. All patients should be seen during their retentive phase regardless of the type of retainer they are using to make sure that their retainer is doing a good job.

Several types of retainers will be reviewed with links to help you visualize how they work, and we will help you select the right one for your needs when you are approaching the end of your active phase of your treatment.
